According to Majority Leader John Thune, the US Senate will vote to bar California’s plan to end the sale of gasoline-only vehicles by 2035 this week. The plan has been adopted by 11 other states, adding up to 40 percent of the automotive market, something the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, which represents Hyundai, General Motors, Toyota, and Volkswagen, is unhappy with. Democrats, however, say that the Senate is violating its rules by going ahead with the vote.
