The name “Ioniq” first appeared in 2016 as a frugal alternative to the Toyota Prius. Hyundai has since co-opted the name for its lineup of electric vehicles, which currently includes the Ioniq 5 crossover and Ioniq 6 sedan. Now, a third model has joined the lineup, a three-row SUV called the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9.
