As the first M-dedicated SUV, and just the second M-specific model ever created, the BMW XM arrived a few years back with plenty of fanfare, and not all of it positive. But that fanfare was never able to convert to fans who thought that what BMW was offering was fair. Sales of the performance SUV tanked, despite its claim to be the most powerful road car BMW has ever created.
